Anyone else looking forward to this? Been a fan of the series for years and will be interesting to see how the new cars and engines fare. Also Rubens to cheer on of course.

For those unaware, it's going to be shown live on Sunday evening on the Sky Sports F1 channel. Sadly though it looks like this might be a one-off teaser trying to entice people to subscribe to full Sky Sports for the remainder of the season, as the rest seem to be scheduled on Sky Sports 4.

I should be there....only 12 miles from my home, but alas am here. The organisers and Honda do a great event in St pete, the track is OK and the locals love it. Should be a decent season and if the showers hold off a cracking race. Hope to see Catherine Legge do well this season too!

Practice highlights up on YouTube.

Have to say the cars don't look as bad as they first threatened to. Bit "busy" from certain angles, but not too bad. Love how they sound!

Sky listing says 5:30pm I think. Presumably that's a 6pm start, as their Indycar coverage doesn't tend to have too much preamble.

Yup, Sky Sports have had UK coverage for several years now, the first race is being shown on the F1 channel then it goes back to the main Sky Sports channels. I think you can subscribe and watch it on the Indycar website if you don't have Sky.

They look OK from the front, alright from the side but truly horrendous from the back!

Ace, I'll watch this one on Sky. Last year I watched them all on the indycar site - it's pretty good quality really.

The cars look better in black, hides the bodywork a bit more but the red/yellow/white and the luminous green Go Daddy type ones make them look like a child's hot wheels toy. I don't like them.

It's also in a screwed up ratio, 16:9 squashed down to a 4:3 screen (if you have Auto setting, so it always changes to the correct ratio for the broadcast) have to manually change the view ratio to 16:9

Perhaps they're trying to make the cars look better biggrin

Dear god those cars are ugly from any angle except directly in front at ground level, I think they'd not look quite so bad if they'd made them closed cockpit, closed wheel, like newey's f1 concept car.

OMG what the hell is it with the designs of the car?
