I was at Silverstone yesterday with the Alfas; but the star of the show was a young man called Chrissy Palmer. He was driving in the MX5 Cup and won both races in style. He should be in BTCC Touring Cars!

Offer him 1/4 mill and i'm sure he will.

He is BLOODY quick. Seems he has suffered from the usual cash problems since his FF Festival win. Plus, with the greatest respect, he is "very powerfully built" for a racing driver.

I have heard the name before, but if I recall correctly it was on a thread about people slating his behaviour and lack of manners on track days and I cannot recall anything complimentary...?

Chrissy is class, I have watched him progress from his 750MC Hot Hatch days.
His Festival victory should have been the key to something better but bad luck and one injury after another have damaged his career.

Money does not open doors for him, he has none, but raw speed he has in abundance.

Yes there is half a second a lap (or more) in his "bone structure" an area that needs to be worked on.

Sometimes his determination does not endear him to everybody but when you see some of the no hoper's in the BTCC package, you know if he had their money the cup would have his name on it.

He is way too good to be playing with MX-5

Didnt one of the wins require the first 2 cars to have 10 second penalties for false starts? Otherwise he'd have finished third, trailing the first guy by over 9 seconds?

First race he finished third, and won the third race outright.

Hats off to anyone at the front end of any competitive one make series, but is that winning 'in style'?

Fair point and he didn't really shine if FR did he, against a none too auspicious field?

If I had a pound for every BLODDY (sic) quick, class driver, but he don't have the money, eh?

Nobody is more than 5kg over the very generous weight limit in the Mazdas.

For those interested in up and coming motor racing talent, 17 year old Jordan Stilp finished 2nd in all three MX5 Cup races and is the most composed driver on the grid. He will win races this season.

Chrissy is good, but he isn't that good, he is the wrong body shape for formula racing and doesn't have a pot of gold.

He will make a great club racer but I seriously doubt that he will ever be a Tandy, Harvey or Caine, let alone a Simonsen.
