Just had a thought on the noise DC, I could just be that your just not used to a proper engine?
I mean, you having only only just moved up from TVR 6's road /race...

Well, maybe not 99.9% finished more like 95% finished. Had a great day despite the rain. Generally the car handled very well and was a lot more compliant than I expected 
Had to cut the day a bit short when the track started to dry in the afternoon and the slicks had to be fitted. I found that the wheels they are fitted to are well out of balance causing too much vibration through the steering. That is easily sorted though.
Engine was being a bit temperamental. It sounded a bit "fluffy" and sometimes felt down on power. Had plenty of spark and the leads were ok so probably a bit of crud in the one of the carbs as two exhausts were cooler than the others and there was lots of pops, bangs, and flames from the zorst. It did improve though the more I drove it. Should be an easy fix.
The stack speedometer doesn't work and we traced that back to the proximity sensor on the front wheel. Again, an easy fix.
Brakes didn't fill me with confidence. Everything is working properly so we put this down to the pads. They are unknown as they were on the car when I got it. They did improve as the day went on though. I think I'll bin them and put some new ones in.
That's about it really so all in all it was a successful day given the amount of work that has been put into the car to get it back on the track. The car is almost there and now we know what needs to be done to fully finish it.
Thanks goes out to Johnny Greenwood who worked hard all day and wouldn't let me pick up a spanner!!!!!!!!!! He really knows these cars inside out

The brakes were getting better but that might be down to me just getting used to them. I'm going to put new pads in and get the discs skimmed on the hubs the ensure perfect alignment. Track V Road have just bought a "on hub" lathe so I'll try it out.Took me best part of a year to settle on that fact.
New pads (properly bedded in) is a must though and I guess you had the discs skimmed/cleaned?

Got through 80L of Tesco 99 so got plenty of miles in considering the weather and all the checks done on the car
I'm really chuffed it all worked and didn't break!
