The comments make hilarious reading, between the extremes of the Michael fan boys and the Scumsucker haters, as usual his performance and legacy remain (have become more?) divisive.
How many years will have to pass before a reasoned judgement will achieve consensus?
- probably never and hence that is why, imho, he will never be one of the truly greats.
The suggestion of his performance being questioned by the team does raise the possibility of an interesting bet though;
who will leave/get fired first; FM or MSC???

He is having a really poor start to the season so far by his standards.
Hopefully he can get some good consistent finishes.
Can't say i'm surprised Andrew Benson has got the knife out on schumacher.
Personally he is one of the greats to me.
But of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

I think the blog is clearly biased (as I am), but whether you think it is good jourmalism or not I believe it does reflect what a lot of people are thinking or saying about MSC, as fans, but more interstingly in the pit lane, and not just the unacknowledged member of his own team. Regardless of individual views the comments after the BBC article are JUST the same as the ones on the 'Verdict' thread I started ages ago - he completely divides opinion and therefore he will always be seen as a very talented but seriously flawed character, driver & sportsman and not a true great.
OK he has the stats and we can go through the long list of incidents and alleged technical fouls to decide which WC's he won fairly. That's basically a pub argument and does not need repeating. F1 is a spectacle, of competitive daring, anything that makes it unpredictable will be successful with spectators, even dodgy tyres, but apart from Kimi's challenge in one season and Mika's Spa overtake in 2000, doesn't everyone remember how boring the seasons 2000-2004 were?
PS I think he looks like he knows the game's up. A podium would be remarkable and a win is now out of grasp, imho. Regardless of his other faults he's not a quitter so while I think this will be the last season, I very much doubt he will walk away early.

We all know MSC is, was, a great driver. Mistakes like this happen even to the best. Still they seem to be happening a lot with him and to him. As to the BBC commenting, the FIA seem to blame him so the comments on the day were right. They also looked at the video from more than one angle withing seconds to check they were right.
I agree the later comments are an opinions not fact. Are these the BBC's or personal? I feel they are personal. Still we all have them, I think MSC is not driving well in a good (not great) car, that can in other hands has won. Still I would say he is one of the best drivers in the world, just not as good as his team mate currently. Is he past it, I think not, he still a good driver with the odd flash of his old greatness, If those flashes lasted longer... As to his manner on camera this has not changed from when he was win world championships. A powerfull self confidence that he is right a believe all the other car should let him past. I remember him hitting the back of another car in the rain and claim it was an attempt to murder him.
He puts the problem down to the tyres! OK we know you don't like them and others have commented on them, but there not going to be changed. Other have problems with them and moan less! It is this moaning that really erasing his image of greatness. I will be surpriced if he not still in the car next years, moaning when he does not do well! A 5th season? I think not.

The blokes talking through his arse, maybe he has nothing else to talk about so churns out this drivel, that accident could have happened to any driver, he just expected Senna to be going a lot faster and braking later, he got cought out! the bloke should be discussing managed racing and st tyres, which is ruining F1

I also agree that during these comeback years his driving tactics / standards are very questionable. I think in his original career stint he pulled some pretty dire moves on other drivers but he did know what he was doing when he made his move and more often than not they came of for him probably because his reputation made the other drivers yield. This time around it is a series of poor judgement moves that I am not sure he fully understands why they are not coming of like they always used to. Hence he carries on saying it is not my fault the other guy did this or that or the other.
