Really wanted to go to this one as I have had many a good night out in Austin, Texas (excluding the one where I met my other half of 15 years......only joking dear!!!) and I'm sure it's going to be a fantastic event. However, the accommodation rates have gone north of stupid.

Is this the same situation when the GP goes to Sao Paulo, Montreal or Singapore for example...???

Singapore charges a minimum five night stay and I think that he rates are increased by 25%. However hotels in Singapore are not usually that expensive and there are thousands of them.

The US GP leaves me cold. Austin is a good 'country' town, and holds a great music festival....but it is not a place people go to and has no car culture.....nowhere in Texas does. I think the hoteliers are just hoping to rip people off. Hire a Motorhome for the GP is my idea.
