Chevy leave WTCC

Was just about to post this but not a huge surprise the last 2 years it's been basicly chevrolet and lets behonest does anybody think of them as a chevy or a rebadged daewoo and with no sport model what is the point of racing.
Wtcc like a lot of touring car series are suffering at the moment and have a felling that it will disapear in a couple of years/ volvo left, bmw left, seat left, alfa left know chevy. What you got left are 6-7 year old seats and bmws, a couple of privaties chevy and 2 fords.
Lada are meant to be coming back next year can't see it myself honda aswel but haven't heared nothing since the announcement very bad state to be in. I think we will end up with the end of the wtcc and national series using there own rules, dtm germany, superstars italy, ngtc uk, v8 supercars australia etc. When supertouring started then went to s2000 it was always going to end bad you can't have several national series running the same as the world series not with touring cars as it's just such a wide range of cars.

I haven't bothered with it for ages. Been going downhill since the diesels arrived on the scene and having the Chevrolets winning almost all the races and filling the podiums over the last couple of years is very boring.

I'm not sure 'S2000/NGTC type' cars work for a WTCC. They're fine for National series, but for the supposed Premier World Touring car series - sorry, no.
Surely for a World Championship you want fantastic looking, sounding cars, with lots of power, RWD, etc Add in the best drivers on the best tracks and a WTCC could work - other wise, it's simply not happening. Lotti is living in dreamland, regards his comments.

Worldwide consistency with the rules is needed. Didn't see much wrong with the S2000 cars, provided the engine was reasonably priced for non-works teams to run. At least plenty of countries were running the cars and you had guest drivers at various WTCC events. It's done well to last 11/12 years (I'm including the ETCC and ST series in this) since it was created, but if you don't have the manufacturers, nobody will build any new cars and it will die.
I'm not convinced by NGTC as a ruleset, the cars are too expensive to create than was intended and the quality of the standard parts is very debatable.

S2000 cars were very expensive to run, almost as much as the supertourers. I don't know what the new spec WTCC are like but moving to something cheaper has really helped the BTCC, it has gone from having 3-4 different models to about 10.I'm not convinced by NGTC as a ruleset, the cars are too expensive to create than was intended and the quality of the standard parts is very debatable.

I wonder if DTM can get a go on the proper circuit...?on the subject of NGTC...it is constantly being refined and like S2000 could be used as a baseline. If we stuck to rwd cars we'd have a pretty thin field....
