On a dry sunny day--it IS a NIGHTMARE to get into the Stone.NOTHING has really changed in Sixty Three years---just the quantity of traffic In/Out.
BRDC---having NO concerns of the problems of the BankRolling for BRDC PAYING Punters, pass it over to "Managing" Experts who do multi deal Franchised contracts with anyone.YOU Paying Punter Should watch on TV!!!!
The possible solution MAYBE to ease this annual BRDC JOKE---Get ALL CAR PARKing areas and Roads tarmaced------------and OPEN 6-8 NEW ENTRY/EXIT points to Spread the Flows.BUT thats reducing BRDC Profits--END of Story---
Last year was a little damp, there was no problems reported. Before all the upgrades 'a little damp' would have meant chaos.
We have had unprecedented rain in the last 2 months, and this week has been no exception. Dont forget its not just Silverstone that has been suffering in the rain, there have been a number of people flooded out of there homes and other events ruined due to it too. I'm sure that any other upgrades to Silverstones facilities to cope with potential monsoon conditions would also fall foul of this current patch of damp weather we are having.

If you've been before (especially over several decades), and knowing the unprecidented amount of rain we've had (and had been forecast), surely you should *expect* there's going to be a huge problem?

'Luckily' common sense overuled finances this year and I decided not to spend the several hundred pounds it costs to take my 4 year old son and myself to see and hear some of the last 'real' F1 cars.
I still wish I was going anyway though...

You can hardly blame Silverstone can you?
I have been at Fairford for the last couple of days working at the Air Tattoo - the car parks are sodden, the punters are soaked through, the big- wigs have been getting wet all day, local farmers who have rented out their fields to campers are winching cars out of the car parks due to the mud. It's great fun watching it so long as you aren't stuck in the mud.
Have people vented their spleen slagging off Fairford for the waterlogged roads, car parks & camp-sites?
No. they have simply lit their bonfires, huddled together under brollies & got on with it.
It never fails to amaze me that people moan about Silverstone when it's wet & they moan about Silverstone when it's dry!
