Must be easy to do in the heat of the moment. I feel sorry for him he wont ever live that down and it'll be on compilation videos for the rest of eternity.

They should have some sort of flag to indicate the end of the race, then these things wouldn't happen.

Perhaps something in two contrasting colours so it would stand out - perhaps Black & White checks might work well wink

I did it at Snetterton once - had a decent lead slowed coming up to the line only to realise the 1 lap board was out ! Then drove the most defensive line ever to keep the guy behind me for another lap - no mean feet at Snet.

A bit like Rob Jenkinson when he lost the FPA championship at Spa in 2004.

Wasn't there a driver in GP2 a few years ago who thought he'd won and slowed by his team to celebrate but he hadn't yet crossed the line?

Julian Simon did the same thing a while ago in a 125GP race, he realised a little quicker than the chap in the CIV race though!

As funny as it is I do wonder if the guy with the pit board got it wrong and numb nuts believed that instead of the race officials?
