Finally, after 7 months to the day when the engine came out, I picked up the Griff with engine re-fresh completed yesterday and it's off to TVR Power tomorrow for a bespoke engine re-wire to include ECU, coil-packs and sensors that will hopefully put paid to the electrical gremlins associated with an early 90s road car conversion. All being well my son James will be out at Silverstone and testing on the Fri too, so we're looking forward to returning to DTEC as the only Griff on the grid until Dave Stewart re-joins!

Thanks for your good wishes guys - the car is now back with TVR Power (well known to them from the Hockin era)and we shall make a go/no go decision for Silverstone this Fri. There's probably only a 50/50 chance of making it with a fully working car which we could race with confidence!

The clue was in the title Dave - "maybe". Frankly the engine bay was in such a mess when I collected the car that it will a miracle if it all comes together in time. But like most problems, you can get them sorted if you throw money at them!

I know what your saying Captain, but it doesn't have to look nice its just got to work wink If your engine bloke made that much of a mess though, take it out of his bill or his nose.

BLX 1T is the number plate on my Marcos Mantara Spyder and that just about sums up where I am at with the Griff. As a result of detailed discussions with Dom at TVR Power, the engine is coming out again for a proper re-fresh this time and so we shan't be at Silverstone. Roll on Rockingham in a month's time even if it is my least favourite circuit!
