Hi,

I'm going to the Singapore GP next month, anyone else been, any tips or advice? Also were there any support races in Singapore?

Oh, included in the ticket is Moron5 and Katy Perry concerts, I have no idea who they are, worth going?!

There's loads to see and do at the Singapore GP.

Was there in 2009, and there were a number of support races that started mid afternoon their time including an Aston Martin race, Porsche Supercup Asia race and from memory Formula BMW or something similar (obviously that doesn't exist any more).

http://www.formula1.com/races/in_detail/singapore_... is showing GP2, Asian Supercup and a Ferrari race on the Sunday, so you'll be well catered for!

We saw Travis and it was ok. Depends on whether you're fans of those bands or not, but there was no real atmosphere in the circuit as most of the people there were race fans and not really there for a gig.

It's worth heading to some of the big hotels over the weekend for some nightlife (Raffles for a Singapore Sling, the top of the Stamford for New Asia nightclub for a great view of the circuit after the race and some late drinks. There's a few bars on the waterfront worth a visit as well, reasonably easy to find, and obviously a British bar or two as well if you're missing the Prem League....

The infrastructure around the circuit is very good. After the race we were out of our grandstand and across Singapore to our hotel in less than an hour, using the shuttle buses and metro provided. All very, very efficient, and meant that we could go out for dinner a bit smarter than if we'd gone straight form the grandstand.

Presumably you have hotels etc., sorted already. If there's anything specific you want to know, I'll see if I can help.

BalhamLotus, great thanks for the tips on race day. Knowing that there are support races is great news, thanks for the timetable link, just what I've been looking for.

The concerts are an interesting one, the guys and gals I'm with will want to watch I'm sure, I'll probably start on the beers to make time go quicker!

I know my way around Singapore a bit so will be ok on that front.

Cheers,
DK
