F! Steering Wheel "Teardown" (taken apart)

Not sure whether to post in here, in the Science! forum, or elsewhere, but this is probably most relevant.

A bloke on the EEVForum who does various motorsport related electronics has done some repair work on a 2005ish Red Bull F1 steering wheel. He took the opportunity to take some photos.

Technology wise it looks about ten years older than it actually is

I must admit, I was rather surprised at how old school and low tech it was inside. Especially given how much they claim to cost.
