If you two need help on the day let me know ie fuel filler-pitwall-tyre kicker.
Pete
defiantly any help greatly received.. especially as car in bits at the moment with the engine spread across 4 counties !! hopefully starting to go back together on friday if we can get all the machining done. Pete
we will need to refuel at least once, depending how much we can fuel at each stop as we will need to add 60 litres or so to make the hour. refueling needs full fireproof kit with balaclava and goggles or helmet.
see you there ( hopefully)
G
Hi Pete,
Yes as G says your help would be good with both cars,we have two Mechanic's and one general helper aka peter High a mate of mine who does a lot of trackdays so knows his way round paddocks on the Crowthorne side but with two cars going there will be jobs needing your imput i'm sure.Certainly my car will be in more than Grahams for fuel as at the last calculation mine was using 2 lts a minute or a tad more.We are restricted to 40 lts refuel at a pit stop.Unlike G i have not had 5 mins to work out how many fuel stops we need.Like Graham though my car is minus ECU, engine wireing loom,Throttle body & induction, clutch, bell houseing, gearbox, gearbox mounting plate, propshaft U Jays,Power steering ECU,Toneuo cover, dash board, windscreen, diff and mountings,Oh and two very leaky dry break refueling churns as of tonight. So no panic there then.If you want in, let us know ,between us we should have a pit ticket for you.

Perry - you're using an LS3? I have the LS376/480 (LS3 with factory hot cam) - we use nothing like the fuel you do. About half in fact!!! Have you had it mapped recently - it must be running incredibly rich?Iirc when I ran the Mosler in the 24 it was using about 2.3 litres a lap at Silverstone gp and around 1.51 lap time out of an ls7
So if your using almost twice that you have a problem, and probably bore washing! Do you monitor or run a lambda gauge? If found one invaluable to prevent engine damage

Hi G,
I,m in Portugal on holiday so no idea what really is going on with the car.I am using dry break on the car, although as of tuesday night, they were leaking and i may not be able to use the dump churns as planned.i have a sunaco jug but i beleive they have to be altered according to the regs for the event and Andy R has a jug aswell so those two would be a possibility if i can get my fuel cap changed.40lts is max per pit stop.Andy Holden yes my car is same spec as yours although i have a tottally different take on the exhaust system than you that i beleive is the dog's ......and has added greatly to the performance we recon, but thank you for the advise you gave me at the time a couple of years ago when the exhaust was been designed.weather that has added to petrol comsumption i don't know.my car is really thirsty but it is been upgraded to Emerald 6 since the issues of Silvestone so we will be mapping without lambda,s.I leave all that upto Powercrazy Steve who maps all my cars.It was on Lambda's so was not running rich we have investigated any leaks but found none ( given the problems i have had with the car i insisted that the leak test was done by naked flame.)I am relying on you G for a flame blanket and Andy R has a 9lt powder extinquisher we can use for refueling.I am fitting an earth lead to ground in case car needs earthing as it did at Spa.we are using a battery cable stripped and hanging down to drag on floor.I,ll hopfully get an update over weekend how the car is progressing and let you know where i'm at.

regs on refueling
>>>
3.9 Refueling. – may only be carried out by either of the following two methods.
a) Cars fitted with ‘Dry break’ systems
b) Cars fitted with conventional fillers using Anglo American Tuff Jug or similar (i.e. with a pressure operated 'shut off' valve)
NO OTHER METHODS ARE PERMITTED and, for the avoidance of doubt, 'Jerry cans and funnels' are STRICTLY prohibited. All refueling equipment will be subject to scrutineering.
Note: Cars adopting Option b) above are advised that appropriate modifications may have to be made to allow the shut off valve of the refueling jug to operate satisfactorily. Fuel filler caps must be 'leakproof' and breather pipes must be secured.
<<<<<<<
I think modifications relate to making sure the filler is vertical so that the jug goes in properly..
