An update on Replay Motorsport Project
Discussion
Hi, after PH kindly published the article on the launch of our project working with older fans with dementia, thought I'd do a quick update.
We've been working flat out (3 of us!) and everything we've developed in the last 2 months since the PH article is done whilst running groups, predominantly North of the border, and training care staff & volunteers. The response from the motorsport community has been terrific, with the likes of DC, Ross Brawn, Lee McKenzie & Karun Chandhok giving their support and sharing some fabulous memories too. http://www.sportingmemoriesnetwork.com/supporters/
Some recent additions that PH'ers may enjoy are Derek Bell's proudest Le Mans moment and Sir John Whitmore's memories of Le Mans with Jim Clark http://motorsport.sportingmemories.org/memory/531-... & racing tin tops with Steve McQueen http://motorsport.sportingmemories.org/memory/527-...
The memories that are shared on the site can be used by our group facilitators to help start discussions and hopefully some will inspire fellow PH'ers to share a few more.
Finally, as it is Goodwood Revival, here's a lovely story from Roger Phillips about racing there in his Mini in 1965 and again in the very same car in 2009 http://motorsport.sportingmemories.org/memory/469-...
If you can spare five mins to add a memory, a reminder of the link http://motorsport.sportingmemories.org/content/add...
Cheers
