A week to go until the 8th rd of the btcc at the rockingham motor speedway and we have some news circulating already.

RAR will feild both there audis for rob and will brat.

Team hard will field a new driver howard fuller just for rockingham no news if tony will be driving.

Techspeed may return for rockingham but looks likly to return for the last 2 rounds with joe girling a production touring car champion with a turbo powered cruze.

2013 calander has been unvailed link below

http://www.touringcartimes.com/article.php?id=8046

Lets try and keep everything in 1 thread instead of 3 at the last round and enough of the plato is a tt, bad driving, btcc not as good blah blah blah it's getting very boring now.

I was going to be there but change of plan so will be watching on tv hoping to go to silverstone instead.

Going on the Sunday with my dad. It'll be our second time at rockingham in 3 years and the second round we've visited this year having also gone to Donnigton.

It's a good track from a spectators point of view, we were certainly able to see most of it last time we went.

Rockingham is a bit dull by touring car standards, the only good overtaking spot is the first corner and the field tends to spread out quite a bit.

I think they should do Donnington's GP track or Oulton Park's short track (indy?) instead. Brands Hatch gets two races after all.

From a racing point of view I would tend to agree, but from a spectators point of view it's pretty good as you have good views of the whole track.

I will be there on Sat and Sun,staying at the Holiday Inn Express Kettering.Always go to 7 of the 10 rounds of the championship.(Miss Snetterton,Croft and Knockhill).

I enjoy it at Rockingham as its good for spectators as you can see all the track from the grandstand, good access to the pits and you can watch the action from a viewing platform on the roof of the pits.

Tony has said that he will probably not be driving the Civic again this year as Rob will be back in the car for the last two rounds.I am dissapointed as Tony is a great racer so should try and do a deal to drive the Insignia at Silverstone and Brands.

It's Rockingham - so it will be windy - temps aren't great - dry 16c

They should just avoid the infield section at Rockingham completely and use the "oval". Or failing that, go to Castle Combe.

I'd like to see them use the version they had back in 2003. The left hairpin back onto the oval was better than the chicane which doesn't allow any overtaking unless there's contact. Not my favourite track to visit. I like the pit garage roof viewing area, but apart from that it's soulless. Perhaps it's because it's not a traditional circuit as such.

They don't have a MSA licence to run the oval do they ?
Although I have done a few laps of the oval wink

Well one thing i can gurantee is 10 minutes given up to Jason Plato explaining how his KX Academic is helping young drivers.............according to some TV buddies its been filmed. Obvious reason, positive PR after his PR fail against Aron Smith........

As for the racing, cant wait. Fingers crossed for the dude Rob Austin, coolest racer since Hunt. Needs some luck.
Can't wait to see Andy "i pay 650k a year to look this bad" Neate make a fool of himself and the sport again...

Well it didn't take you long to crawl out of the woodwork. Why don't you just fu@k off instead of taking every btcc thread as an opportunity to slag off Plato. And no, before you suggest, I'm not one of his 'PR guru's, just a GENUINE motorsport fan that is sick of reading your same old tiring censored.

Castle coombe wouldn't be suitable, there's no room for the trucks, the support race or the hospitality units.

The MSA do licence the oval for the Pickups (it even has to have marshals placed around it). Not sure how turn 4 at the end of lap1 would turn out mind hehe.
