Abu Dhabi GP - anyone going?

Morning fellow PH'ers.

Am flying to Dubai on Thursday to celebrate my 30th with some pals and and going to the race on Sunday. As you can imagine I am at defcon 5 levels of excitement...!

Any tips as I have not been over there before. We have a busy itinarary but I'd love to know if there are any must do's whilst I am there.

Where are you staying and what transport will be used to get to the track and back?

Staying at an apartment in Dubai near the Palm but will be getting on a coach that has been arranged by my pals out there to go to the race on Sunday and have it booked to take us back to Dubai after a night out in Abu Dhabi.

Sorry, AD is a dump compared to Dubai for nightlife. I'd probably hang around for the post race gig near the track (dunno who it is) unless its someone you hate.

I have been reliably informed we are going to the gig after the race then have a table booked at Allure for drinks that night - does that sound a bit better? :-)

Saturday night concert is Nickleback
Sunday night concert is Eminem

Will probably book a taxi to and from Dubai so we can have a few beers at the track.

No interest in the first two nights, but despite not being a massive Eminem fan I think that will be awesome.

The club looks pretty good, my pals have had a great time there the last couple of years.

Need to get on with some work but struggling as I can't concentrate! Roll on Thursday morning and the meeting point at Heathrow..!

I really hope Dr.Dre puts in an appearance as well.

Quite looking forward to this one, got to be better than it pissing it down at Silverstone like last time.

I went the first year as I lived in Dubai. Had a great time! Think we had Kings of Lean one night and Aerosmith the other. I haven't been there for a couple of years but I'd def be going out in Dubai rather than AD.

Flying out on Friday for business, was hoping to catch the Saturday but doesn't look like they do day passes and I can't make the Sunday.
