is he worth more than the £250,00 wage per year? or is his wage so low as he is not a pay driver?

His salary is a combo of both - too good to be a pay driver, but still as yet unproven at the top, when the pay drivers are breaking into the midfield.

I'm not sure he looks too good to be a pay driver, in all honesty. I think they could get better for less money.

Waste of a decent seat IMHO.

He's struggled in the second half of the season while Hulk shined.

I think his confidence took a knock somewhere along the way and there appears to be a fair amount of frustration. Given he was tipped for all sorts of drives at one point he ends up staying at FI (not confirmed yet)..
Maybe needs a bit more time in the car.

he goes around with a face like a slapped arse and at best he's a handy driver. Not to fussed if he stays or goes. Hulk kicked his arse today.

Time will tell. Today he dropped it, but then at other times he's done rather well IMHO.

Or less...

He should give someone else a chance.

There are loads of drivers who are better than him and there aren't enough cars to go round.

If I was in charge I'd boot him and get Heikki to drive the car driving

I think thats a bit harsh, he was out performing Hulk early on in the season.

Loads of better drivers ? until we see them in an F1 car we don't know if they are better to be honest.

Heikki has barely out performed Petrov this year, who got derided as a pay driver from the moment he got in to F1. Nice guy but far from top drawer.

Hard to say that Di Resta is top drawer either mind.

Maybe he should go race sportscars with Uncle Dario, I think he'll probably learn some racecraft from it (as would many F1 guys).

In reply to Crafy's post where he was implying that because Dario and Paul both come from Bathgate they are related.

As said, they are related, (I got the uncle bit wrong..)
Marino Franchitti (Dario's brother) does a bit of driving too.

Dario drives in GrandAm for Chip Ganassi (owner of Dario's indycar team) on occasion. Marino has driven in LM24.
