We have got the the engine out now ,having the heads very slightly skimmed, every t5hing else is in good order...it appears the block has never been touched...we have sent the crank away to be crack tested and the results arnt good ...there is a hailine fracture ...Question is... how long has it been there and should i take the risk and keep it, Hui was down at the workshop saturday......what was your take on it...we are getting replacement prices at mo. I dont suppose anyone one has one lying around they dont want ?

Hi Bill. Don't take the risk. If the crank is cracked, a new one is the order of the day. The blocks are as scarce as hens teeth these days and everything you can do to prevent damaging/detroying one should be done. I didn't see the engine as I dropped by Steve's place last Thursday when he wasn't there. Hui

If you'd taken it to the engineering shop I use you'd have got it back in two pieces. He doesnt let anything bent or cracked come back out of the workshop !!!

looks like you've got yourself a coffee table. if you use it at some point it will break, at best it will just lunch your entire engine, at worst it will cause a massive accident....
