No, Luca is a lovely guy, I'm probably as a big a supporter of him as anybody. I am a big admirer of Luca's and I'm sorry for all the trouble he's had with politics recently. He should never have got involved in the first place.

The FIA's AGM is about to start and the main point of interest will be who comes out on top. The teams, whilst there is no FOCA, seem to be more or less united on some aspects. Todt is marginalised - he has no money - so is of little consequence.
However, this little spat pre the meeting is quite unusual. As Ecclestone suggests, why wasn't this all done 'behind closed doors'? That is better put as 'why wasn't this done as normal'. A public spat is hardly what F1 is known for.
There are tough times ahead regarding the negotiations on the new forumla. I'm with Luca on the point of less aerodynamics.

Strange indeed as both BCE & LDM make Macchiavelli seem amateurish at times. Neither opens their gob without reason.
+ another 1 for less aero dependancy/trickery. Oh and the exhaust should exit at the rearmost part of the car with zero effect on a wing/gurney/upturn/downturn/slot/hole/etc.

Wave goodbye to 20bhp...Look at MotoGP, it's a shadow of its former self. Moto 2 & 3 is where the "Racing" is and is a truly enjoyable spectacle for us petrolheads. If restructuring the rules to make F1 cars a bit less like flightless planes and more like a platform which enables the "drivers"( Alonso, Hamilton, Raikkonen, et al) to show their skills off to the maximum entertainment of us, the paying fans, bring it on.
The problem is that no one is pushing for spectacle. The most influential teams want to ensure that their superiority remains, so aero, the big gap, remains. Todt has no say and Ecclestone's normal concern for the spectator will, if anything, reduce now that he's trying to sell the sport.

He probably holds more power than anybody in Italy outside of Sergio.
Unless you were under some kind of mistaken illusion that the nominal national politicians are in power in Italy? But then I presume you wouldnt be that daft to think that...
