Poor judgement (again) on Williams' part...hot on the heels of letting Raikkonen slip through their fingers and not finding a compromise to keep Parr onside. The only good decision they've made recently is to take the risk on Bottas. I am worried that FW is losing it.

Do you think Wolff or FW's offspring hold the power there or is FW still calling the shots? Is Wolff a disruptive influence? Parr's departure coincided with Wolff coming on board after all...

There are a few articles in the current F1 Racing Magazine (also a Haymarket publication) about Williams, one of which is an interview with Adam Parr. It doesnt go into specifics but it indicates he quit because of issues with Bernie. Now who know whether Williams got a better deal from Bernie once Parr left. He also says it was too high risk to take on Kimi, they were impressed by him and his passion and determination but he was still an unknown quantity and also they didnt know the quality of the kit they would be providing him with.

Also take in to account Patrick going into retirement. I think he was a steadying influence over Frank...

Slightly O/T did you receive a mail back from Tony Southgate? If not, I will be seeing him in January and could pass your details to him in person then.

I haven't.

If you could, that would be good. If you PM me your address again, I'll email you a few more details which may make sense to you and Tony. smile

rubystone, I totally forgot that I had contacted you, not the other way around.

Anyway, you have a bit of an update that should clear the murky waters. smile

They've also lost one of their Chief Race Mechanics, to Sauber, Tom McCullough.. Seems like quite a personnel change at Williams..

I'll have another go in a bit from the laptop. PH mobile is being a tad temperament at the moment.

Laptop not letting it send at all.

I don't suppose you still have my email address? If so, if you drop me an email, I'll copy and paste what I have typed out in the PHmail window and post it across to you. smile

Seems Gillan has always ducked in and out of the sport, he's got his own consultancy firm and is a professor at a university in Surrey. Maybe all is not well within the team and he's decided to do other stuff ?

Joe is more interested in Steve Neilsen leaving Lotus, he reckons he's off to Merc.

I've just had a confirmation email from PH of the first email I tried to send.

Let me apologise in advance for the spamming that your inbox is about to receive as I did try a few times to re send it.
