Perfectly quick driver. Hope he can turn it into some consistency.

Easier to make a quick driver who drives into things not do so than it is to make a slow driver that doesn't drive into things quick...If you see what I mean.

A lot of drivers have gone through phases of being a bit of a ham fist - it usually passes. Damon Hill in 1995 and Hamilton in 2011 are two that just spent a year clattering into things* but sorted themselves out.

Agreed.

something like 8/12 first lap incidents were not his fault or were unavoidable.

Granted, a couple of them were fault accidents and he was.lucky not to have a serious injury or a death on his conscience.

+1. Andrea De Cesaris springs to mind as a good comparison. Pretty crash prone in his earlier years but very quick. Matured into a well rounded and respected driver in the late 80s / early 90s.

Expected grosjean to get the seat he deserves. All the bks about his crashing really was over the top. Just highlights how sanitised f1 is at the moment
