Production Car Trials-Tyre help needed
Discussion
Have been doing Sprints for a while and wanting to have a go at Production Car Trials as well this year. Now we have a Saxo and thinking of just using different pairs of front wheels/tyres for the two disciplines. Using Advan AD008's for sprints (worked well last season, lots of wins!) but need guidance on best ones for Trials, Need to be in MSA list 1A.
Anyone got any experience please?
Have one recommendation on Uniroyal Rain Expert but wondering if there is anything nearer M&S type patterns that are legal?

The new EU tyre regulations are your friend I guess - they now grade all new tyres on wet grip. It should just be a case of finding out which tyres on the list are A-rated.Anyone got any experience please?

Hi oldboyracer,
I've been doing the BTRDA car trials championship for the last three years in a Saxo. The Uniroyal Rainexperts are excellent, the difference on wet grass between them and the other road-pattern tyres I have tried is remarkable. They seem to be the best legal option by quite a margin.
Fit them reverse-direction, it makes sense when you look at the tread pattern.
Hope you enjoy the events you do- I've found trials both addictive and a fantastic challenge!

Well I use a 1.1 Saxo on trials so its on 155/70 13s. I assume you have a VTR or S if you are using it for sprints as well? All Saxos seem to go well on trials, the suspension seems to soak up uneven ground. There are several VTRs about at the moment and the low down torque they have make them a good choice in the right hands.
