Spanish GP - Grandstand Recomendations
Discussion
I've only been for MotoGP but loved the circuit. I'll post photos of a few different views when I'm home and not on my phone.
We ended up at the penultimate corner which was great for motorcycles but maybe less good for cars as they have the extra chicane.
What I will say is that it's a beautiful track. OK it's not got the majesty of Spa but it's clean with great facilities and views. Oh and I can recommend a great apartment in Barcelona if you need one!

1st corner at the end of the straight on the outside (left of track) or failing that anything overlooking the 1st corner. I'll try & lok at a Circuit map & update later (or next year
) if you are able to be high enough up you will also have a good view of quite a lot of the rest of the circuit.
www.circuitcat.cat is the official (therefore cheapest) site.
My recommendation would be F or A (personal preference) with E as a 3rd choice. There is still a discount available till March, and , for the moment, it seems all Grandstands available. I understand Alonsos form last year didn't compensate for the Spanish economic crisis & it wasn't a sell-out, but nonetheless best to buy early to get what you want. I have been in all the Tribunes during test days, and may be tempted by A, just to have a different view of the start. If you only want Race day, as opposed to 3 day tkt, you will have to go for E, as A & F are 3 day jobbies only.
Cheers

We were in stand K along the start finish straight IIRC, you couldn't quite see the start line but could see them down into turn 1 then all the way up to turn 3, then again through 5 and up towards 9, plus there was a big screen opposite so you could follow the rest of the action (although I had a Kangaroo TV which I'd recommend getting for commentary and timing etc).
Wherever you pick try and do a bit of research to make sure it's not one that has been mostly allocated to a Fernando fan club, because there were a couple of stands on the far side on the left up towards turn 9 that were like that, and although it may have mellowed now, in 2008 there was still a fair bit of Spanish F1 fan angst towards Lewis Hamilton and McLaren so being a Brit supporting British drivers did make you feel a little uncomfortable at times, in one of those fan club stands it would have been downright intimidating.

Would that be Grandstand H, or the far left of C? Does look like a good location. We ended up at the penultimate corner which was great for motorcycles but maybe less good for cars as they have the extra chicane.

Hi,
Just looking to book to go to the Spanish GP in Barcelona next year. Has anyone been and got recommendations as to the best views etc or ones to really avoid?
Many thanks.
Mick
Have watched from the grandstand overlooking T2 [stand A] which gets you approach to T1 through to the exit of T2. You can just see across to T5,6,7 if you're high enough. Not the most exciting viewing to be honest. 'Racing' highlight was GP2 who showed a kind of magnetism to each other through T1...Just looking to book to go to the Spanish GP in Barcelona next year. I was impressed watching from the path walking up to stand A from Porta 6 during practice. You watch the cars at track level going flat out into T3 - change of direction looked awesome.
The photos of the complex earlier on in this thread look like a good place to be though.
