2014 F1 engine sound

What , sound like an Audi ? I'd rathe rthey sounded like Ligier Renault 1986 edition...

Why is the sound of these engines such a mystery to everyone? We had turbo'd V6's in the early 90's, they sounded pretty nice IMO.

If we are going to be totally accurate 1977- Renault V6 debut at Silverstone - to end of 1988 season. Some sounded great- Reanult in later iterations and Honda especailly , some were OK- TAG - and some were prety mundane- BMW 4 (I'll forgive it for its insane power though ) and V6 Ford and Ferraris.

The first turbocharged GP car appeared in the 1977 season (Renault actually ran test versions of their turbo car in 1976) and turbos gradually grew in popularity from the early 1980s. . By 1986 they were compulsory and in 1987 it was announced they would be banned after the end of the 1988 season.

Yep, realised that afterwards when looking for a vid of one on youtube. Considered changing my post but thought, surely no one would be that bothered to correct me.....
