They did.Pretty certain about the testing (or I might be thinking of 2011 with the beebs 'red button'> But they certainly aired the car launches.
There was even a debate on here about the best car analyst; ability to simplify the mumbo-jumbo - Beeb or Sky.

I've not been F1 testing myself but a lot of friends have recently and you can much better paddock access than a race weekend. It's a lot easier to get drivers autographs at test sessions too. Have fun BlackpoolRock said:

Will do thank you, apparently it's a few euros each day to get into the circuit, however I think that paddock access is extra, been quoted £250 per day so far.If there is anyone who has been there before and knows the drill or has got any tips, I would be greatful.

I went to the Barcelona test last year and it was very good. You can access most of the grandstands and go all around the circuit, it feels quite modern too so no grotty toilets or anything really to worry about. One thing I'd definitely suggest is to bring plenty of food and drink with you as there was only a few of the food stations open which had big queues, slow service and hefty prices! I'll be at Jerez and Barcelona again this year too, only a couple of weeks more to wait AnHorse said:

Thanks for that, that is some good advice. Have you ever been in the paddock? Yes not long should be great fun and good weather.

I went to a test at Barcelona in 2007 and had paddock access - this was as a guest of a team though, I doubt you're able to get general admission? If you can get in, there's excellent views of the pitlane from the roof of the pits (although that was 5 yrs ago, not sure how different they are now). Plus there were quite a few drivers wandering about, as it's a lot more relaxed than a race meeting (mate I was with found himself standing next to Button in the bogs

Yes not long should be great fun and good weather.
There wasn't access to paddock unfortunately from general admission. We did have Mark Webber get in a car directly behind us at one stage and drive down one of the circuit roads so you may have some luck finding a driver wandering around etc. Also the weather last year was surprisingly good, even got a bit of sunburn from being sat in a stand too long over lunch! Will be taking a bit of cream this year as I wasn't expecting the sun to be a problem Yes not long should be great fun and good weather.
ETA: I had a quick look around the internet and asked on twitter and the responses were that you'd require a team to give you pit passes or you can pay an event company a heap of cash if you're desperate to get behind the scenes.
