I thought the stepped nose was out for this year ? Though i know these launch cars tend to bare little resemblance to what ends out on track

The teams are allowed to have a "modesty panel" on the car to cover the step, but it is not mandatory.

However, the step and high noses are banned for next year. IIRC the tip of the nose has to be about 30cm lower for 2014 than currently allowed.

I liked that bit goes well with the black and gold. The back half looks good - still don't like the nose.

Not much (visible) change from the old car, but then I guess that was to be expected given little change in the regs...

The 'extra' red's growing on me already - at least it looks like part(ish!) of the theme now, previously it just looked like a necessary addition for sponsorship reasons!

Not sure of the red bits either, I was hoping for less red, not more. Anyway, no nose panel (yet) and I didn't notice anything particularly different. If Romain can calm down on the first lap and get to the finish, they should be good this year.

The red bits are for Grosjean to help him see the extremities of the car better this year, the all black car last year caused him problems when judging where his car was when near someone else. They have also fitted a proximity buzzer.
