I thought this is the best place to find out this information.

I'm currently working as a vehicle dynamicists in the Automotive sector and in the past I spent a year with a LeMans race team working and studying where I was able to be an acting race car engineer.

I'd like to find a team (If this is even possible) that would take me on as a free race car engineer, obviously the higher level the better, I was thinking around F2. Does anyone know of a team or where I should start before I start contacting teams at random?

Thanks everyone.

Your best bet would most likely be one of the Formula 3 championships if you're determined to work in single seater racing...
There are plenty of options out there, but i'd be hesitant about just firing your CV out willy nilly... By all means contact the Teams - and follow up your speculative enquiry, but do it methodically!

What's your end game? Where do you see yourself in 5 years? How much money do you want to earn? That sort of thing...

Just re-read your post... You say you want to work as a "free race engineer"...

Why free??
