Racing events in New York

Guys,
a colleague of mine is going to the US in mid-May and would like to go to a race, is there anything interesting happening race wise in New York state around this time. Have done a Google and can't find much of interest.

Any info or help will be appreciated and result and virtual beers.

The Trans Ams will be racing at Lime Rock on the weekend on 25/26th May. Possibly a little late.

It's only about 110 miles away from NYC in Connecticut. Easy drive.

There may be something else on there that he fancies mid May, but nothing major as far as I know.

Thanks for the replies guys, I did find the Limerock website, unfortunately there doesn't appear to be much happening while they're there.

Cheers for the Indy thoughts matt, if it were me I'd consider it, but I'm not sure their budget will stretch to that though.

Watkins Glen raceway is in the West of NY state.

Unfortunately the time they're there means there's nothing at Watkins Glen, and they aren't there for the end of May. i think they're there from 10th to 19th May.

Nothing else even comes close. I love the smell of nitro in the morning, smells like victory.
