Could be a very good move for him. Glad he has managed to get a drive. I can see WEC getting a few more ex F1 drivers over the next few seasons as the series grows.

For too long driver managers have told young drivers that F1 is where they need to be. In the real world they can make a decent living in sportscars and Indycars for a decade or more....not pay to be in F1. Sponsors are also very interested in sportscars if the price is right.

You seem to be making the assumption that Senna is being paid? I would very much expect that he is putting money in, not taking it out.

Good to see he has seen sense, and instead of holding out for a lower tier F1 drive, has got himself a top GTE-Pro seat in the FiA WEC. Good move!!
As other have said, F1 is not the be all and end all of Motorsport, despite what it's apologists think.

Indeedy! The GTE class is properly stacked this year. Nevermind the energy drink vs dull grey crap sounding cars. I want to see Astons vs Ferraris vs Vipers vs Vettes vs 911s

F1 is in danger of disappearing in a cloud of its own irrelevancy anyway. It's a sorry state of affairs when only half the teams on the grid can pay their drivers. Well done to Bruno, his underrated skills will be better-utilised at a team who aren't stealing away his setup time.

Spa is part of the WEC, on 04/05/2013. The opening round at Silverstone has the RAC TT trophy up for grabs now and of course, there is Le Mans. It's a pretty impressive calendar this year.

There's a reason why WEC's previous incarnation was vandalised by Max and Bernie, it is too close to F1... and arguably better. Some of the most exciting racing I saw last year, if not ever, was the hour or so before Ant Davidson's crash at LeMans it was mindblwoing exciting.

As for Bruno, it is good to see him going somewhere he can win not be stuck in a crap pay drive at the back... and good luck to him.

No, the 6 hour is part of the WEC. I think the balance of shorter and longer enduros is about right for the WEC. There would be no sense in running the longer races at some of the venues, certainly from a commercial point of view.

6 hours is spot on. The Spa 24 is special in its own right.

Oh he is bringing a deal to the table, but teams in GT racing will be way more flexible than in F1 and the $$$$ go way further. Any driver with $3-8 million will not get far in F1 but can enjoy some great exposure and racing in GT's.

Also, the FIA wouldn't want to dilute the 'special challenge'/general series flagshippyness of the Le Mans 24 hours with other 24 hour races - and I can understand that.
