Is anyone going to the rally this weekend? I thought I'd give it a bump.

The rally village looks good - some Group B cars on display, plus of course the rally itself on the seafront.

Decent entry list too.

I usually go and watch scrutineering at the Norbreck Castle hotel - it's a good oppportunity to have a closeup look at the cars, including under the bonnet, and I'll be in Fleetwood on Saturday morning for the stages there ( hope the weather's better than last year - thanks to freezing drizzle I ended up with a sheet of ice on my back and the 2nd run through the stage was cancelled )

The weather can't be worse than last year, it's impossible to be..'

Also going up this year, looking forward to it.

Quick update while waiting for my tea to cook, before going out to watch the Group B demo and 2nd spectator stage at Norbreck.

Interesting afternoon watching scrutineering - took 1.5GB of pics which I need to sort through and upload a few.

Got chatting to the guy who owns the Stratos replica that was entered last year ( but failed to get as far as Fleetwood ) - unfortunately not in this year as he's just finished rebuilding it after wiping the front end off  He very kindly opened her up so I could get a few pics of the engine bay though :thumleft:

The rally village is sponsored bt the GT4OC, so lots of Celicas on display, plus a couple of Quattros, an RS200, a Manta, an Ascona, a 6R4, Rover SD1, Ferrari 308, and the inevitable Subarus and Mitsubishis. Also a GT86, though just in road trim.

One car caught my eye - rear wheel drive Toyota Starlet powered by a Vauxhal 20XE - Will watch out for that tomorrow

I'll be up the other end - there's always a few who cock up the hairpin next to the boating lake smile

Just a few pics from from SS1 at Trax,

Mark Roberts/Gareth Twiss 2013 NW Stages by J.F.T, on Flickr

Mark Holmes/Tony Lindsay 2013 NW Stages by J.F.T, on Flickr

Rest here

Had a quick nosey at scrutineering then headed down to SS1 for car 1, then went up to SS4&5 on the Prom.

To say SS1 was a small stage it was still quite interesting when you had 3 cars coming round in close formation, bow

Cheered me up somewhat after finding someone had driven into one of our cars, for the second time in less than 12mnths, and done a runner, furious

Well Flickr doesn't seem to want to show the pics of scrutineering, but here are the show car galleries

I've some video from last night, which basically consists of various bright lights zooming past on the prom in otherwise total darkness - apart from the Ferrari 308 ( which was rather distinctive ) I haven't a clue which is what car. I'll probably edit all them together with a small image size to reduce the filesize, as the best bit is the sound they make.

I also took a load of video this morning at Fleetwood which I'll edit together and put on Youtube.

Nice that they made a presentation to his late dad..(so it said in local paper)

Thanks for the heads up about this.

I had never heard about it before. Took my 10 year old lad Saturday afternoon to the Preston Stage, then over to Norbreck Castle for a look round the Rally village and then onto the front to watch the last stage, followed by fish and chips walking back to the car.

One of the best day's out ever and I'm officially awesome!!! biggrin

Top afternoon and will be going again next year, cheers.
