Hello all, I've done a very short (8 questions) survey for Fans of Motorsport to find out what they think of the very current debate on safety, I'm keen to find out what you all think before the season kicks off again this year. Thanks for your time!

going around that saloon drivers are happy to have their cars damaged and it is
somehow OK to lean on the other guy by swapping paint.
What are your aims for this survey?
Safety is fundamental to the sport. This looks too narrow to be of any real use, as far as I can see. You're also ignoring bike racing it seems, which is probably an even more relevant candidate for a discussion on safety. Also, how do current safety regs lack freedom?

Hi all, I'd like to thank you for your feedback, especially to Woof and Simes43 for their constructive debate, some good thoughts that have been taken into account. It is definitely a valid point for discussion. To Reardy Mister, I understand your point, I'd like everyone to know that this survey definitely isn't a major part of my dissertation and isn't the only survey I will be doing. This one was simply one for the fans that had to be applicable to all types of fans, taking into account various levels of knowledge, it is clear to see from this forum that although many here have a high level than others, if anyone here does want to provide their opinions or experiences then I am more than happy to hear them. The reason I haven't included bike teams is simply due to the fact I have no experience with them and the scope that it would add to the project. Coppice, thanks for your feedback, the issue with quantitative data from surveys is exactly that, it doesn't provide any qualitative reasoning, it is the nature of such a medium. I will be doing interviews with Engineers and individuals in the industry for this reason. Olivera, the "capitalisation" that you speak of is simply for names and have checked to be correct, thanks for your concerns. To Heebeegeetee and Galileo, the reference to "safety incidents" is an event that is detrimental to the safety of the competitors or those involved in the sport, marshals, spectators or otherwise. This is a noted term from the MSA and other governing bodies concerning themselves with Motorsport or Health and Safety in the Motorsport industry. Once again, thanks for all your replies so far.
