According to Eric Boullier (from the source of http://planetf1.com/driver/18227/8537356/-Grosjean... )

He reckons that Grosjean can win the Drivers World Championship, due to his supposed "Talent" & "Speed"

But what do you think? Can Grosjean really become World Champion?

At the moment he's a bit scatter-brained, and prone to making observational errors (although not half as often as people make out). He is, however, a very fast driver and he's also pretty young.
I'd never rule him out of anything.

ETA: obviously the answer depends totally on whether you're talking about Grosjean winning in 2013 or at some point in his career- your question is unclear on this.

No I wouldn't bet on him for 2013.

I reckon hes in good stead for winning races this year, given his ROC victory I reckon he'll be in a good frame of mind.

If he starts off the front row he can avoid crashing into people - strong chance based on Winter pace. Not being flippant - the Renault could be this years surprise package.

Hopefully he'll have got his eye in before the first backmarker looms large.

I'm getting more and more tempted to have a cheeky bet on Kimi winning the championship this year to be honest. And I don't think Grosjean will be far behind if he keeps out of trouble.

Got to keep it on the black stuff on a consistent basis first....and out of trouble.

To coin the old saying, 'to finish first, first you have to finish'

So, I'd say no. Too much competition that perhaps won't bang it or stack it into someone else. No denying the blokes speed tho.

I'd say he's perfectly capable of doing it.

Just seems a bit nervous of making mistakes.. leading to him making more mistakes.

I like him.. Hopefully he can show everyone this year what he can do.
Just needs to keep it on the track!
Sure has the speed.

In my view he's better than a bunch of guys that did manage it.

He dominated in GP2 a couple of years ago, and the year before that did really well in GT cars. He's a top racer who has a hard time of it every now and then. They all make mistakes.

No. he is neither consistently fast enough nor is his car quick enough to win again and again. He also has a faster team mate who is the number 1, so team rules apply. Top eight, not top five by the end of the season.

Any driver could be World Champion. It's just a ridiculous question.

According to his MANAGER Eric Boullier ... bla bla bla. Why does he not say Kimi could do it again ? Because he is not trousering 20% ?

There were stories that last year RG got some upgrades a few races before Kimi, he appears to lack basic intelligence/spatial awareness and has some God given belief that he can pass several other highly talented drivers into T1 at the start of a race. This is a talent he is clearly lacking as the results of his actions showed.

Give him a Brawn '09 type of advantage then yes most people on the grid would win the championship.
Equal machinery, not likely.

Given an unfair advantage in the best car and team orders in their favour ....
