Team Bath Racing
Discussion
I know there's a lot of people on here interested or intrigued by Formula Student. We have been revamping our facebook page and website over the past couple of weeks, and now that the car build is underway you might like to keep up to date with progress. This year is our first attempt (for almost a decade) at a carbon monocoque and things seem to be coming along well.
We have been at the top of the UK teams for a long time now, with the fastest UK car by far last year, and this year should be no exception.

What do you guys view as the weekend motor racing market? Does a carbon monocoque push the budget limits for this?
That's a very good point. There is a graph of volume vs purchase cost that the car should adhere to, and obviously with higher volumes the high tooling costs for CFRP reduce. Our market research shows that, at the moment, a simple monocoque is a more marketable proposition than a spaceframe and customers are willing to pay extra for the safety as well as the 'fashion'.Forums | General Motorsport | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
