Funnily enough this season I have been criticising the Beebs poor advertising of MotoGP(+2/3) this season.
It has been annoying how they have hiden it away online despite providing good coverage and, in my opinion, absolutely brilliant entertaining commentary from Coxy and Stavros plus decent off track features. Perhaps the loss leads some kind of explanation.

Let's hope the F1 goes completely also, as the current quality of coverage and presenters is terrible.

It's a shame, but the BBC can't afford to pay the silly money that BT and Sky will have been putting up for the rights. Hopefully the Beeb will now cast the net a bit wider for sports coverage.

The BBC's income isn't far behind BSkyB (£5.1bn vs £6.8bn) and exceeds Virgin Media's £3.9bn and BT's £2.9bn. They had a £389m surplus this year too, more than enough to have honoured their F1 commitments & bid for MotoGP.

I'm sure the commercial operators would love to hand back their profits for a £3.6bn licence fee every year.
Was going to say the same! BBC paid 20 mil or so for the rights of The Voice...they have plenty to spend.
