Unbelievably poor F1 coverage in USA

I am seething right now. NBC decided to change where they broadcast the race (on NBC instead of NBC sports, where they've broadcast every race this season) so all of us that set our systems to record the series missed the race. Even though the network guide said the race was on NBC sports, it was not.
Then, they broadcast the results of the race in the slot before the main race (was supposed to start) so if you turned over at 2 minutes before the race you get the closing ceremony with Niko on the podium!?
So, when it came to when the race was on (and I was annoyed as I knew the results, but hey, I could still watch the race), instead of the race you get the post race extended coverage.
And they aren't going to repeat the race.
Utterly bloody hopeless. I hate the coverage here - speed was bad but NBC are infuriating.

Tunnelbear FTW. No use for the races that are only on Sky unless you've got an account / a friend that'll let you borrow their Sky Go login for the race, but it means you can access the BBC's coverage which is leagues ahead of the American dross that gets broadcast.
I use 'media hint' for chrome. Works brilliantly. Lets me watch BBC, ITV, etc from Bulgaria.

How long have you been over here? US F1 coverage has, for the 11 years I've lived here, involved 4 races on network tv and the rest have been on sports channels (Speed until last year, now NBC). Let me tell you, NBC have done a way better job than when the four terrestrial races were on CBS thanks to a deal Bernie did with a 17 year old (no joke). t and always has been, even for the Olympics. It has been a touch difficult figuring out which channel the broadcast will be on. But in fairness to NBC they have brought along the majority of the Speed team and they do a good job. One aspect that has impressed me has been the split screen broadcast and commercial breaks so you don't actually miss a second of racing.
