Can you go round the ring on GP weekend?

As title really, the website says it's open in the evening Thursday to Saturday and that tickets are available, but i'm not sure if this guarantees me track time? I guess it will be really busy?

If it's open for TouristFahren (Tourist drive) then it's by no means guaranteed but should be open. Purchase your laps there and head out.

I'd not bother with Saturday, it'll be A. Rammed and B. Full of people without a clue. Thursday should be quieter.

I went over a few weeks back, they closed at around 19:05 on the TF for last cars out even though it was planned from 17:30-19:30, so get in there early

Have fun, don't crash and move out of the way for faster cars

Was planning on going round on Friday but should be there pretty early Thursday so will see how it works out, quieter the better for me as i'm sure you've figured!

Didn't word my OP too well, I should have asked, is it first come first served? my main concern is that it will be too busy because of the GP. Is it ever "full"?

It does get full, you pay per lap and they'll queue you as you go to enter, usually not too long and it's mainly on the busiest weekends like Easter but the issue is more down to the amount of cars on track - you really want a nice quiet lap on your first go as you'll be slow.

Faster cars? It may sound like hyperbole but on your first lap you'd need a 911 GT2 to have any hope of keeping up with a local on a BMW 318i. No track in the world rewards and punishes commitment with such brutality.

If you don't know the circuit I would contend that trying to keep up with a local in a stripped out shed is likely to result in you crashing - regardless of what you are driving yourself.

Kind of my point. Had a lovely lap last week in the back of a Long wheelbase 750i, enjoying the use of picnic tables and the like. Driver with many laps experience meant I could wave, royalty style, as we passed the odd GT3RS...

I'll be in an EP3 civic type r so nothing fast! I shouldn't have joked, I will be taking it very easy I promise. I have wanted to go for years but never had a decent car and spare money at the same time.

Going back quite a few years (circa 96/97 ) but at that time the parts of the NordS that were closest to the GP circuit were out of action as they were used for parking any excess trucks etc that wouldn't fit within the paddock.

I guess old & new circuits have different owners nowadays ? so maybe doesn't happen anymore.
