One RB seat sorted for another year (after the end of next year).

People are forgetting that, which ever top team he will end up in- he will be very quick in.

Time to face reality- the kids good!

I placed a bet on 17th Jan 2010 that he would be world champion that year.......and won a few quid.

I should have had an accumulator as I thought he could win more.......

I didn't frown

He will win more but the odds are shocking now!

As much as I hope he never wins again, why would he ever leave if they keep on winning. Makes perfect sense to stay. As much as I think Mark is one of the few nice chaps in F1, once fingers gets a teammate that can compete, it will get more interesting.

The real story is that he hasn't been locked in for longer.

He was already contracted to the end of 2014 - this is only a one year extension on that.

LH is also under contract to the end of 2015, FA to 2016.

I think he'll find himself feeling like LH - needing a move away from his "family" to keep him motivated.

I think that is very wise. It means that he has the option in two years to see if there is a better team out there for him.....

I just wish he would get a team mate who could give him a real run for his money - I want to see just how good he really is. FA or LH please... biggrin

Ah but if you have a family that treats you like family rather a cash cow maybe you relax and enjoy the sun.

I'm no fan of his but he is a bloody good racing driver ! personally I can't see why he'd want to leave RedBull. He's a clear No.1 there, they are consistently at the front of the grid unlike all the other "top teams" at the moment. He has a solid relationship with that team too. Unless he gets some Hamilton "I need to leave home now" syndrome I can't see him leaving for a long time.

I think he will beat Schumacher's record.
8 times world champion is his aim. Vettel loves breaking records.

Oh yes. How can you not like a fella who is leading a race then risks it all on the last laps to get fastest lap of the race!?!? Even when his team complain about it.

We surely would. However, even then there would still be the naysayers.... wink

I do not think he will. Nothing lasts forever.

The Schumacher era for various reasons was a mainly very static one for an unusually long period. Come 2014 it will be all change and that shake up could well see some teams far more effective whilst previous champions become also rans.

Vettel will still be there of course and showing well, but, others are improving and no matter how good you are, someone or something will come along to change the status quo.

Speaking of which, carry on rocking ... wink
