Campin Nurburgring GP

Looking for a little bit of advice. Have got weekend tickets for the nurburgring GP and our only option is to camp due to costs and availability of hotels etc. Planning to arrive on the Thursday but wondering if its worth getting there in the morning rather than evening to find a decent camping spot. Will be heading to mullenbach site and everything I read says just to turn up and find a place, would rather not end up in the worst place though.

Anyone done the GP camping before? Everything i can find is for the 24H race which is a lot busier apparently.
