Some Advice for Saturday at Silverstone GP

Down in London until end of next week, but have a free weekend. I totally forgot the GP was on, so bought a ticket for the Saturday qualifying (my other half is ranging!!)
I've read the other threads on GP advice, but just wanted to clarify a few things.... probably just getting excited!!
Will be traveling from Guildford area, so i'm presuming the roads should be fairly quiet early morning. The gates open at 6am with the car park opening at 5.30am, how early should I go so that i'm not stuck in traffic for hours? Was thinking of leaving about 6am which would get me there for about 7.30am, but would leave earlier if need be.
Good viewing suggested in other thread were Copse, Becketts, Luffield and between Vale & Club or Becketts & Maggots. Your views or other recommendations please.
