The time has come – all good things must end. I’m planning on selling the Tuscan as I can’t see myself having enough time to a) get it fully sorted and b) actually use it. It’s a pretty well known car (at least I think it is) and it did loads of track days and a fair few road miles with the Small Block Chevrolet. The LS7 is now in and running and I’ve done a couple of track days with it but in fairness there’s still some work to do on the mapping and some other bits and pieces to get it perfect.

MODS please don't kill this and suggest 'The Classified' - a Tuscan Challenge car is a pretty rare beast and I'd like to discuss how best to realise some cash from it. Once I decide what to do I'll put the appropriate ad advert up.

Reason for posting here and not putting it immediately up in the ‘for sale’ section is as far as I can make out it would be worth more if I broke it up. Interested in comments and values.

I’m guessing a good 2-seater chassis (with a kosher V5), Penske shocks, the straightest Tuscan body ever, 2 x Corbeau seats, brand new master cylinders, brand new pads, Tilton pedal box with adjustable balance bar, 2 x Odyssey batteries, new custom dry sump tank and breather tank, ‘road legal’ wiring harness with side repeaters and all lights, wash/wipe, flash etc etc has to be worth at least £15K? Paint could do with a refresh 5 years on since the build, but still nice and shiny. Mounts for LSx motor, but also original AJP mounts un-touched. Clearly the chassis/body is only going to be of interest to TVR folks though.

I’m guessing an LS7 based motor with all steel internals bench dyno’d at 600HP plus with a new Canems ECU, dry sump pump, ATI Super Damper, 110mm throttle body and ancillaries has to be £12K plus? But this has appeal to more than just Tuscan folks.

Similarly new Tilton race clutch, flywheel & hydraulic release, TKO600 box and custom propshaft maybe £3K?

There’s £1.5K of Aeromotive fuel system – pump, filters, fuel rails, regulator and all Teflon braided hose with AN fittings.

Other bits and pieces – brand new plumbed-in SPA fire extinguisher, Pi data logger with all sensors (many new) plus spare, 4 Dynamags with good R888 tyres plus 3 spare Dymags, 4 Compomotives with used slicks, SPA brake balance gauge, new coils and custom Magnocor leads, up-and forward stainless headers and full stainless system, 2 x rad fans, 2 x in-line blowers and loads more must come to £5K?

So my back-of-a-fag-packet maths suggest I might get £36K plus if I just split the car for parts. In truth there’s so much work in the car and so many custom parts I’d really rather sell it ‘as is’, but as a complete car (road registered and MOTd) is anyone going to come close to that value? No reason it can’t race in the Challenge that I’m aware of, but you might want to ditch the passenger seat? I have no idea what the market's like - is there any demand for complete cars?

What do folks think? Split, sell as is? And as above, there are still a few bits and pieces to sort out before its running perfectly so if it’s sell ‘as is’ then spend more time getting it running spot-on (with the limited free time I have coming up that could take months!) or let it go as ‘some fettling necessary’.

And given the reason for selling it is…lets say, a change in life plans resulting in no free time…then there’s the trailer, engine hoist and all the tools made up for the car.

PM me if you want.

Sorry to hear your selling William after all the hard work you have put into the car!
I agree the car is worth more broken but still think you can do no harm putting it up first and seeing if it's just what someone is after.
Good luck with the sale whatever way it goes and if you still own the car in August please come to the TVR track day @ Cadwell smile
