Good luck with that!

Purely out of interest, do you need to be quite slight to be competitive?

Also, what's your budget for the year if you don't mind me asking?

Looks like great fun!

I know when I raced in Tkm my budget was about 3k a year, that included entry fees, engine rebuilds, tyres, practice days, fuel etc etc

No Not at all! weve got blokes that are 16stone, im only about 10 and 5ft 8 so im small but im on a smaller engine with a restrictor to restrict the amount of air my intake gets! therefore evening the playing field!

And id say about 4k ish, but tbh you can spend as much or as little as you want depending on how competitive you wanna be! The most expensive part is setting up!

Agreed

When I was karting, I knew someone who was spending 50k on club level rotax max, ok he was racing every weekend and won the regional championship but, I'd rather spend that on circuit racing in a radical or something...there are some karters who spend way too much money. Jus go out there and have some fun...you aren't gonna be the next lewis Hamilton, I just enjoyed getting the odd trophy when they came around and having a good race....and besides its wayyyyyy more satisfying doing it on a low budget and fixing/setting your own kart up, when you go out and beat the big budget guys

BOOM....Exactly it! theres no point! iv only done 2 meetings but already keeping up with guys that have been doing it alot longer than i have! This series is so friendly aswell! any problems you get someone will always help! And like the last meeting where we had alot of damage from the 3rd heat we still managed to get out for the final using someone elses spares! Id Rather race in this than spend alot of money on rotax where you chuck money at it and punt one another off all the time!

I sent Garlick a message last night about starting up a karting thread. Hopefully PH will do something.

Slight thread hijack ... any old karters? I use to race a Zip/TKML90TT in 100 National some 35 years ago. Still got it in the garage!

I've just scrapped the remains of my old SOLO TKM L90. I was hoping to re build it until I found out I wouldn't be able to use it anymore.
