Montoya What Next
Discussion
Montoya only ever gets bad luck with EGR.
On top of that he's rarely had the equipment, they've had an upturn in form this year because Chip put his hand in his pocket and bought some proper engines. NASCAR is a side show to the other series he has teams in it would appear.
JPM finding another seat is going to depend totally on $$$ from sponsors. I think Newman will probably be higher on the shopping lists though.
Worth noting that Juan has done sports car stuff with Ganassi so he might look to GrandAm or even ALMS?

Seems harsh, should have had at least one win this season (maybe a couple of others) and has more or less performed the same as the #1 car.
Guess he will have to settle for a part time ride. Personally, I'd like him have serious crack at Le mans to complete the old triple crown. But as that might involve leaving the US, not to mention going on a diet(!), it might not happen.

Okay, I've got to owe JV at least £200 in winnings from the bookie.Guess he will have to settle for a part time ride. I'll happily pledge that sum to the team that runs him, JPM, and McNish in a car with a realistic chance of overall victory at LM.
If it stays dry and we can effectively police the fast food bars around the region it could be epic!

GA & ALMS have combined as of next year, DPs & LMP2s forming the top class. On top of that he's rarely had the equipment, they've had an upturn in form this year because Chip put his hand in his pocket and bought some proper engines. Why do you think the ogre would be higher on the shopping list? JPM & Jamie Mac have been more or less the same, Ogre is no better than Jamie Mac IMO.
I would love to see JPM in Smoke's team but I can't see it happening.
Stewart already said if they were able to run a 4th car he'd put Newman in it.
Newman has had a win this year, it sticks in peoples mind. You are probably right though, given the car I don't see Newman doing any better than Jamie/Juan.
Aside from Newman, Kurt is looking for a ride and some speculate that Kyle Larson might be destined for the #42.

Newman is a far better NASCAR driver than Montoya
I'd say Montoya knew this was coming, lost a lot of weight this year and seems to have given the tv crews a lot of access this yerar. During last few races they have been following him including trips to Columbia and family holidays.
He was unlucky at somona, running second but ran out of fuel on the last lap, good race last week at wakins glen too, but other than these two twisty circuits hasn't been up to much, caused a few wrecks too.
