how strict are scrutineers on number fonts and colours?

a minor issue but I am just curious -

Anyone know exactly how strict scrutineers usually are on the MSA guidelines for race numbering colours etc?
Anyone think I would get away with a carbon vinyl number with a coloured outline?
or should I just stick to the usual plain solid Black

Depends on the scrutineers I guess. None of my teams have ever been that interested in graphics and put the boring numbers on. Give it a go but I’d make sure you’ve got some replacements back at the truck so that it’s not an issue if someone decides that you’re not getting your pass unless they are changed.

just being picky really, not really worth the hassle of messing about if theres much of a chance of the number getting a knock back..
