Just go. The atmosphere is great. Even if you just walk about, take a picnic and wander around the track, it is worth going. Some good cafes near by if you get bored.
Thanks - I'm definitely going Saturday and Sunday, just keen to determine if there is much to see on the FridayFor the actual on track activities it will be pretty much the same as Belgium here. Its just the circuits that the GP2/3 bunch don't visit that will have a different schedule.
I can't comment on stuff that happens away from the track as this will be my first Monza GP, I just know that if you have a 3 day ticket you are also entitled to attend the pit lane signing session on thursday afternoon.

we are actually breaking it up in to 2 days.Once off the tunnel first stop is the old circuit at Reims and then on to Dijon for the night and the next day on to Monza
should be fun, I'm hoping we can do it on 2 tanks of diesel (Manchester > Monza)

Best thing we did was buy a Telpeage transponder.
Myself and my dad will be flying into Milan sometime Friday dinner or afternoon,as it is we aren't looking to head to the track Friday. That could change mind,bearing in mind we are staying at a hotel in bergamo ( transfers to track from outside hotel)
Saturday will be all day at the track,as will Sunday.
Saturday will likely be the wandering around day,buying stuff for folks back home and definetly walking the track to watch practice sessions quali at different points.
Sunday we have grandstand seats down at Alta velocita 6c.
Should be a good weekend,looking forward to it.

We broke it up at Basel. We used considerably more than two tanks (petrol car, 28 mpg!)

I'd go on Friday as well ! Busiest day for track action Saturday will be all day at the track,as will Sunday.

Might be a bit late but Friday is - for me - an essential part of the Monza experience. The chance to see watch decent-length sessions from every point of the circuit is priceless. Only downside is the quantity of Monza rush-hour traffic - takes ages to get anywhere compared to Sat & Sun but I wouldn't have swapped the chance to spend half an hour at the fence on the entrance to Ascari for anything. Amazing, amazing experience.
Went to the Pit Lane walk on Thursday. Good to see but there were hoards of people, my girlfriend nearly got crushed. There is only one entrance and Ferrari and Red Bull were right down the end at a dead end. People packed in tightly going both directions made it a nightmare.
Unless the organizers did something to ensure a better flow of people by having an exit at the end of the track I wouldn't bother attending in future.

It's Italy. The logistics are generally good there. Monza is good to chill out out, just wait until you can walk the track after the race, pick up marbles and follow the racing line...Unless the organizers did something to ensure a better flow of people by having an exit at the end of the track I wouldn't bother attending in future.
