Find me a way to watch the F1 HD channel

In a propriety where dishes aren't allowed, Virgin doesn't exist AND the only thing that appears available is BT bks.

I found the perfect flat to buy, but not having the F1 makes it a deal breaker to buy.

Is there a solution?!

Do you have friends with Sky F1?
If so use one of their SkyGo passes and watch it that way.

I think you can pay on demand, but I'm not sure.

How sure are you that dishes are not allowed?

I only ask because here in MK, everyone's deeds have covenants saying that aerials and dishes are not allowed, yet practically every single house has one or the other (or both).

I believe the idea was originally that everyone would have cable. Someone forgot to tell the cable suppliers who never installed digital cable services!

The only way I can think is to find someone you do know who has Sky and get them to add your device (iPad, Android tablet etc) to their Sky Go account, if they are not using it. You should be able to find someway of connecting that device to your TV. You will need a half decebt interweb connection though.

Sky dish on a pole in the garden? That's what they do around here when dishes arnt allowed on houses.

Thanks all - should clarify, listed building, so defo not allowed ok front or in garden. Not sure about on roof out of sight...I shall check.

I currently have sky - maybe I keep it on......but only watch it via online on a skygo login?

Would that work from a BT line. Wouldn't have thought it would have the capacity

NOW TV? with a Sky Sports day pass? At £9.99 a day though they aren't great value.

My dish is mounted on a listed building in a conservation area.

It is mounted on the side of a chimney stack and completely invisible. Sky installers wouldn't do it but the local independent had no problems.

It has now been there 13 years with no problems.

If you can keep Sky on, I would suggest buying an Xbox and streaming using SkyGo. Having the Xbox means that you can watch it on the TV rather than the laptop.

I've been watching Sky from my parent's SkyGo account on the Xbox for years now and it's brilliant!

Should be fine with a BT line, I have infinity now but used to have a non fibre optic connection and it streamed fine!

Get a good installer round, and see if he can fit a dish in a hidden location.

At worst, you will be told to take it down, but I doubt it.

You can watch it free online. A bit of googling helps

One of those YouView boxes will do it. I think it's £30 per month for the full Sky Sports package, plus there's no contract. You can have it one month then bin it the next or only pay during the F1 season.

Failing that, Google is your friend for free sports streaming

It works fine, my partner doesn't have the Sky F1 channel and only has a basic BT broadband set up. Should circumstance dictate that I'm at her place during a race I simply run a HDMI cable from my laptop to her telly and it works absolutely fine. Obviously your laptop/PC/tablet will require a HDMI out.
