Still ten days or so to go, but already the driver merry-go-round is in full swing again! And it involves Team HARD as usual. Jack Goff is back for the last three rounds, Paul O'Neill should have been in the second Insignia, but has increased ITV commitments and can't do it. Then the news that Tom Onslow-Cole won't do the rest of the season in the CC and the car will be used by VW Cup drivers.

Interesting indeed.

From what I had heard previously there was a deal being worked on to get Charlie Butler Henderson in one of their cars at Rockingham.

Kieran Gallacher stated openly Knockhill was a one off and he is one of their VW Cup drivers [not sure if VW Cup is a full season or 1 off actually]. He has also stated next year he's not that in to the VW Cup as allegedly there is too much open book in the rules with cars not being checked for running additional boost etc. [on the face of it, that seems an interesting statement given they run dataloggers to check for improved performance round to round and also have supposedly sealed ECUs / maps]

I wonder if that means he'll be stuck on base boost for those events, given that he was entered in a Passat and that's what has happened to the IP Tech Chevy, Warren Scott's Passat and the AMD Honda when they switched cars.

If you're not fast, you're last. wink

Looking at his VW lineup, he does have Ash Shuttlewood who wanted to enter the BTCC last year until ES Racing bought the Vectras he was after.

Well buy this rate the entire clio cup series will have a go in that car. I might be going to this round depends on money as I have a track day the day before to shake down my newly built kit car.

They might as well turn the Team Hard car(s!) in to BTCC funded guest cars!

Get international guys/ presenters/rally drivers/whoever adds appeal to rock up and do a round.

No testing, just turn up, get paid, drive the wheels off it, soil the seat, hand it back.

First up: Martin Brundle.

He may not have done all the rounds but as far as I can see, he hasnt managed a top ten in VW Cup.

Out of his VW Cup squad, Sutton seems strongest.

It was just a guess as he had BTCC ambitions in the past. At least in Wilmot they've found somebody who has dreamed of racing in the BTCC since he was a child. They're a rare breed. wink

I thought it was fairly obvious I meant the Passat without a known driver, not the second chronologically or in team status or any other measure.

I seem to remember someone moaning about Dean Stonemans driving standards at the last round, well now he has a 2 race ban...

http://www.btcccrazy.co.uk/support/porsche-carrera...

So I guess that puts the Porsches down to about 8 cars on the grid?

What, and make the races even more boring? Nah just ban all the Porsches for stealing a place on the programme for a more worthy championship.

Raced against him in karting and he was a bandit driver then too. It's a shame because he is genuinely quick but doesn't seem to respect his competitors

Any idea what other championship is going to be prepared to pay the fees Porsche do to appear on the BTCC support line up?
