Anyone know about this suspension set up?

Saw this photo on another thread recently and when looking closely noticed the rear suspension uprights seem to be linked together. Is this an inboard shock mount setup that is temporarily linked out for ride height, or somesort of de dion thingy? Or I am i missing something? I think it was a pic of a malaysian racer???

Yeah horizontal dampers missing and setup bars in place.

Iirc that did start out as a Malaysian racer but not much if any of the original left in that pic.

The malaysian racers were fairly stock
