Some countries seem to be inherently racist and have always been so.
It used to he jingoism, but as we now have a half black driver in F1, it's an easier target.
fans have blacked up in Spain
fans have thrown peanuts in brasil
fans have thrown bananas in Italy.
It just doesn't reflect well on those countries at all.

Racism is something that's in the makeup of Italy. Sad but true. You may of also spotted all those white flags with what looks like a leaf on it ? Those are the equivalent of the national front in that region. Happens every year and the authorities do nothing about it.

I must admit I don't get the thought process at all that says "look at those racists, it reflects badly on that country." Do you not see the irony there? The actions of 20 odd a
holes reflects badly on the 20 odd aholes, not a full country. Since the arguement is about racism, is it not xenophobic to paint a whole counry's population with a brush based on the actions of 20 pople who happen to share a type of passport?

ks.Initially, I was wondering if anyone else saw it. I make no statement as to the perceived racism of any country.
I am not calling Lewis a monkey. But when a 'nana is thrown at a person with black heritage, it's a fairly blatant racist act.. The fruit launcher is the moron I have a problem with, not Italy.

In the US, if you happen to disagree with the policies of Barack Obama, you are instantly a racist, which diverts from the real problem. All throwing the race card does is divide us as a society and weakens the folks who have been convinced that every little piece of BS is racist.

Italians I spoke too in the stand I was in had nothing but positive things to say about Lewis because of his racing performance. During his overtakes down the pit straight a vast majority of Italians/f1 fans that I could see were on their feet and cheering just as much as me. They especially went crazy for him at the paddock entrance when he came out for autographs.
One slight incident by a moron really doesn't reflect the Italian f1 fans feelings towards Lewis, I was pleasantly surprised they had warmed to him so much.
