I have a manual steering rack fitted to an early Griffith (a TVR rack), which is 2.7 turns lock to lock. The gearing on the power steering version is I think, 2.2 lock to lock. I do find that it seems a long way to turn the wheel to catch the back end sometimes, wishing that the ratio was nearer to the powered version. However, I would like to keep it manual so wondered whether anyone had an original Tuscan Challenge manual race rack for sale which I understand are 1.7 turns. I appreciate that they will be rare and 1.7 might make it too twitchy and frantic on a road car but would like to try.

Alternatively, does anyone know if the ford escort racks, fitted to earlier TVRs, would fit a 1992 Griffith. I understand that they are far easier to modify. Any ideas, or experience gained, gratefully received. Thanks Peter.
