RV8 engine in a 1983 Series 1 Tasmin

Has any one in the past fitted, or tried to fit, a rover V8 engine into a series 1 Tasmin Coupe? I have tried to measure the chassis on the Tasmin at 3 different distances from the bulkhead (with a 2.8 cologne engine in place) and it seems to be about 2" narrower than the same points on a 450 SEAC.

Lee fitted an rv8 into a s1 taz, but he did bring the exhausts forward.

He seems to have disapeared though

Thanks for the information, I have also heard from Tony (Chedder) who has a supercharged V8 in a Tasmin soft top. So I am going to go ahead with the project. Next priority is to source a Rover V8 to T5 Bell housing, any ideas where i may get one?

not cheap but does include a concentric clutch slave ( from a saab) so it makes installation dead easy
