but it certainly is not healthy for the engine mounts.my engine was trying so hard to get out of the whole, it ripped part of the engine mount out of the chassis tube both sides,never seen that before.................

Is that because...you put 550bhp, through the the 380bhp Rover mounts with an adapter plate???

Hi andy if you look at the back of the chassis tube you will see more of the mount pluss it also has a very large poly bush type mount on block as well.the small one on the front was just used with the others because it was there.now put a strap across the top of both tubes

interesting you say that, as it was origionally concidered but decided that an ally block would not like been solid mounted

both our cars have always been solid mounted. that's engine, gearbox and diff
we have had no problems in 5 years, actually it was one of our better ideas

Here is my version of Alcatraz , now rated to 595BHP wink as i have a bit of lee way now as the engine is apart how much was that race cam to replace the cheese one in it......
